Wendy A. Mathisen
She serves as the central interface for knowledge-based systems within the company and works with KeySource employees and associates on a wide range of business projects serving the entire spectrum of KeySource clients. With an impressive background in managing financial, tax, audit and many other business services for large public companies, Wendy has a strong attention to detail and a keen acumen for business services and knowledge management.
Prior to joining KeySource in 2006 Wendy worked 14 years for Legent Corporation, a publicly-traded system software company. She began her career with Legent’s predecessor company Duquesne Systems and adapted as the company’s annual revenues grew from $10 million to $500 million. During this time she held several positions in accounting and corporate tax.
As Tax Manager, on behalf of Legent, Wendy directed federal audits under the IRS Coordinated Examination Program. She was lead point of contact with the IRS Audit Coordinator for presentation of information and negotiation of issues. She coordinated and reviewed information request responses generated by personnel both inside and outside the Tax Department. Wendy negotiated substantial favorable settlements on Legent’s Foreign Sales Corporation, Foreign Tax Credit, Intercompany Interest, and Intercompany Pricing. This position afforded her the opportunity to interact with all levels of internal management as well as federal, state, and local auditors.
Beyond the audit function Wendy’s accomplishments included establishing Legent’s Foreign Sales Corporation and managing execution of statutory requirements for continued qualification including Foreign Management Tests, and Economic Process Tests; developing Source Code Escrow Procedures for Legent’s Delaware royalty subsidiary; determining Research and Development costs and calculation of Legent’s Research and Development Credit; as well as responsibility for the income tax implications of the company’s ISO’s, nonqualified options, restricted stock and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. She also directed staff in all aspects of federal, state, and local taxes.
Prior to joining Legent, Wendy held other increasingly more responsible positions for Safety-Kleen Corp and at the corporate headquarters of McDonald’s Corporation in Oakbrook, Illinois. Wendy graduated with honors and a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Northern Illinois University and successfully passed the CPA exam.
