Brent D. Brandon
Brent D. Brandon serves as Director - Defense Markets for The KeySource Group, Inc., a strategic business management and human capital consultancy company headquartered in Hudson, Ohio. Brent's 20-year career spans service in both the public and private sectors and includes executive management experience with small, mid-sized and Fortune 500 businesses.
Brent is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and winner of the National John F. Kennedy Fellowship at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, where he earned a Master's of Public Policy. He is a combat veteran with 27 combat missions in Operation Desert Storm, including the first wave attack on January 17, 1991; for which he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross; and winner of the Gilroy Award for Leadership and Flying Excellence in Electronic Warfare Officer training.
Prior to joining KeySource, Brent served as President of True North Communications, partnering with a leading regional interactive marketing and video production firm, Total Media Services to secure the largest government contract in the firm's 15-year history: a public communications program to 16,000 stakeholders which included high-impact CD ROMs, Web Page Development, E-chure, public hearings, and two highly produced 30 minute television programs which aired in every major market throughout the state.
As Washington Group International@s Vice President - Corporate Communications & Investor Relations, Brent managed business communications and investor relations for the NYSE-listed engineering & construction firm with 37,000 employees at 621 projects in 45 states and 30 countries. Responsible for buy- and sell-side investor relations, media relations, community affairs, and employee communications, Brent's department won 11 international and national awards for products including a 64-page company magazine, corporate video and video magazines, and a $3 million campaign which included marketing on CNN Headline News.
Brent worked closely with David and Keith as their senior manager of MK's Department of Defense Privatization initiative, co-developing a strategic plan for national privatization of Defense utilities at 135 military installations. He also reported to them as Business Project manager for MK's Department of Energy's Yucca Mountain Project; forging a coalition of five multi-national firms for the $5 billion procurement; and managing 11 professional, technical and administrative teams of 57 PhD's scientists, engineers, and attorneys to produce a client deliverable by a critical milestone. Other initiatives included a proprietary strategic Business Development approach and corresponding training curriculum; and training for Group level corporate executives and the development and implementation of integrated organizational financial programs for the management of 31 projects totaling $12.5 million annually.
Earlier, Brent served as President of an MK Subsidiary, Western Aircraft, a 105-person, six-division, aviation company with $17 million in annual revenue. Responsible for operations, financial accounting, environmental compliance, marketing, and human resources, Brent profitably managed the company and achieved 100% environmental and safety compliance over two years, earning MK's President's Safety Award.
As a mission-qualified EF-111 Electronic Warfare Officer with the 366th Tactical Fighter Wing, Brent served on the Wing's Inspector General Staff and as a tactical instructor: developing and applying instructional systems to ensure combat-ready status for all incoming aircrews on the $60 million electronic warfare jet aircraft.
