David A. Ralston
David Ralston has a diverse background extending over a 25 year career in commercial and government projects and programs in the energy, defense, environmental and engineering/construction markets. He serves as a Principal in The KeySource Group, Inc (KeySource), a strategic business management and human capital consultancy company headquartered in Hudson, Ohio. In addition, Mr. Ralston serves as Chairman of the Member's Committee of KeySource HCI, LLC, a KeySource affiliate company that provides retained executive search and a full suite of human capital management services. Prior to co-founding KeySource in 2001, Mr. Ralston served in various executive management positions at The Washington Group (WGI) and The Morrison Knudsen Corporation (MK.
KeySource and its affiliate company KeySource HCI, LLC, provide strategic services for clients that serve the commercial and federal government energy, defense, environmental and engineering/construction markets. They deliver unique and complimentary services that couple strategic business consulting with executive recruiting and human capital management. Clients range from Fortune 50 industry leaders to smaller start-up firms, all of whom are engaged in the pursuit of business growth and transformation - - through the entire life-cycle of business transition ranging from major sales and project/program development initiatives, to joint ventures, mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, consolidations and organizational re-structuring.
At WGI and MK (acquired by WGI), Mr. Ralston served in various executive positions of increased responsibility. As Executive Vice President and General Manager at MK, he directed the Federal Project's Division, a $350M/year business unit that delivered large scale environmental management, facility operations and design/construct projects for federal government clients. Mr. Ralston had P&L accountability for this highly profitable Division which included approximately 1,800 employees and projects with individual life-cycle costs in excess of $1B at multiple locations. He also served as Group Senior Vice President for WGI supporting the CEO in the management of its $1.5B/year Energy & Environment unit. Early career experience includes technical and project management in various field assignments, and over 20 years in business development for commercial and government clients. Career highlights include:
•Initiated and lead the creation and development of RMRS, LLC, an MK/WGI majority-owned, special purpose environmental management company at the DOE Rocky Flats project. RMRS accomplished then unprecedented performance objectives and grew to revenue in excess of $200M/annually. Mr. Ralston later served as member of the Managing Committee and finally Chairman of RMRS.
•Conceptualized, initiated and gained Board approval for the acquisition of MK/WGI's majority interest in Westinghouse Government Services from CBS Corporation. This strategic and highly successful $1.1B acquisition (total transaction value) propelled WGI into a world leadership position in the nuclear, environmental and weapons demilitarization markets.
•Lead or supported major business development campaigns for Department of Energy, Department of Defense, and other government clients that that generated total revenues (at completion) in excess of $9B.
